Open Call: The AI Media Award Spans Six Generative-AI Categories — Deadline Aug 31

The Zürich-based award for work made with generative AI is taking entries across AI Advertising, Animation, Art, Fashion, Music Clip, and Narration, with a finalists' showcase and ceremony at the Kongresshaus on October 27.

Deadline: August 31, 2026. The AI Media Award (AMA), based in Zürich, Switzerland, is accepting entries for work created with generative AI across six categories: AI Advertising (AI-supported commercials and social clips), AI Animation (cartoons, manga, animated stories), AI Art (works with artistic ambition), AI Fashion (AI runways and editorials), AI Music Clip (AI-supported music videos), and AI Narration (AI-based short films and story formats). Each category awards one international prize, plus a special “Swiss AI Content Creator” honor for a Switzerland-based entrant. The finalists’ showcase and ceremony take place October 27 at the Kongresshaus in Zürich, and entries are handled via FilmFreeway.

Why the six-category split is the useful bit

Generative AI has collapsed a lot of distinct crafts into one toolbox, which makes “best AI video” a nearly meaningless thing to judge — a polished AI commercial, an AI music video, and an AI short film are trying to do completely different things. AMA’s six lanes fix that by judging like against like: a fashion editorial competes with other fashion work, a music clip with other music clips. For creators, that means a better shot at recognition on the terms of what you actually made, and for the field it produces a more legible snapshot of where generative tools are strongest right now (spoiler: advertising and music video tend to be furthest along; sustained narrative is still the hard one).

Who it’s for

If you’re making generative-AI work in any of those six modes — from a moody AI-generated fashion film to an animated short to an AI-assisted ad — this is a straightforward place to put it in front of a jury and an audience. The Swiss-creator special category is a nice touch for the local scene, but the main prizes are international. As always with FilmFreeway-based competitions, check the entry fees and the rules on rights, credits, and how much AI involvement qualifies before you submit — those details vary a lot across AI awards, and they matter.

The essentials

  • Deadline: August 31, 2026
  • Categories: AI Advertising, AI Animation, AI Art, AI Fashion, AI Music Clip, AI Narration
  • Awards: one international prize per category, plus a Swiss AI Content Creator honor
  • Ceremony: October 27, 2026, Kongresshaus, Zürich
  • Entry: via FilmFreeway

With about five weeks on the clock, it’s a well-structured option in the fast-growing field of generative-AI competitions — and its multi-category framing makes it friendlier to specialists than the single-prize AI film festivals.
