AR Freed Their Eyes From the Screen. Eye Tracking Showed the Attention Went to the Hologram Instead
The standard argument for AR in safety-critical work is that a head-mounted display stops you looking down at a tablet. This study measured where the recovered attention actually goes, and the answer undercuts the argument: out of the map, into the conformal overlay, not into the room.
