People Who Love a Piece of AI Art Are 22 Points More Likely to Think a Human Made It
A new working paper reanalyzes a public 'AI Art Turing Test' with 11,123 respondents and finds that favorite pictures are 22.1 percentage points more likely to be judged human-made than non-favorites, holding the respondent and the picture constant. The pattern holds across every opinion group, including people who say they dislike AI art — a third to two fifths of whom still picked an AI-generated favorite they believed was human-made. A reanalysis of a published poetry study finds the same link.
