He Built a Deckbuilder Out of 1600s Woodblock Prints Instead of Generated Art
Max Shawabkeh spent 18 months on a non-violent deckbuilder about restoring a shattered world. Faced with the art problem every solo developer hits, he chose to remix public-domain historical prints rather than generate anything — cutting his procedural map out of a 1600s travel guide by Hishikawa Moronobu.
