Wearable Activity Recognition Keeps Improving, and the Gap for Older Adults Keeps Widening
Most wearable activity recognition is trained on datasets dominated by younger adults, so every architectural advance is measured on a population it already fits. A paper posted October 2 characterises the resulting gap and finds it persistent and often widening — and that representation, not architecture, is what closes it.
