A Month of Coding Agents in Generative Art Produced More Variety and Less Depth
Researcher Dominikus Baur spent the 31-day Genuary generative-art challenge comparing a manual coding practice against one assisted by coding agents. The agents made nearly any well-known algorithm trivially available, producing wider experimentation but shallower engagement with any single idea — a shift the paper frames as a slow move from inventing algorithms to tweaking their parameters.
