A Touchscreen Woven From 54 Fibres That Survives 50 Trips Through the Washing Machine
The prototype is 168 by 105 millimetres, refreshes at 30 fps, and keeps almost all of its display and touch performance after 50 machine-wash cycles. The architectural problem the team solved was wiring thousands of microelectronic devices along something narrow and cylindrical rather than flat.
