A Synth Where the Patch Is the Shape of a Lump
Modal synthesis computes how a physical object would resonate, so the object's shape determines its timbre. BLOT makes that the interface: you shape a lump and the lump is the instrument. It is free, and it is the clearest example of a design idea that has been circling this field for a fortnight.
