Simon De Diesbach Laser-Scanned the Forest He Ran Through as a Teenager, Then Ran Through the Scan
Swiss artist Simon De Diesbach's Limites is a 7'37" animated short built from FARO Focus3D laser scans of around 30 locations along a forest fitness trail in Rossens, with Xsens motion capture assembled in Houdini. Made after a gravel pit began destroying the forest, it questions both our relationship to nature and the pursuit of hyperrealistic digital copies.
