A Four-Dimensional Map of Chords, Where Distance Means Roughness
Microtonal harmony is hard to navigate because there is no keyboard for it. This paper builds a transposition-invariant space where a chord's coordinates are its upper notes relative to the root, computes a continuous dissonance volume over it, and lets you fly through the consonant valleys. There is a working web app.
