SKOG Art Space, an artist-run gallery on Galgeberg in Oslo, is accepting proposals for its Open Call 2027 through August 16, 2026 — free to enter, open to artists at any career stage working in any medium or technique, for either a solo or group exhibition slot in next year’s program.
What’s actually being offered
Selected artists get their exhibition developed in close dialogue with SKOG’s curatorial team, rather than simply handed a date and a room — a real curatorial collaboration rather than a rental-wall model some smaller spaces default to. The call accepts proposals for both solo and group exhibitions, and requires a portfolio, artist CV, project description, and material/dimension details — a standard but not excessive application bar.
Why “no fee, no restriction” is the actual story
A meaningful share of open calls covered in this space carry an entry fee, a medium restriction, or an emerging-artist-only eligibility window that quietly excludes established practitioners. SKOG’s call has none of those filters: zero application fee, open to any medium or technique, and explicitly open to artists at every career stage. For a space that’s been running since autumn 2022 with a stated focus on material-based art and newly established artists, that openness is a deliberate low-barrier design — it costs an applicant nothing but the time to put a proposal together, which matters most for exactly the newer, less-resourced artists the space says it prioritizes.
