The screen changes what glasses are for
A display, even a small one, is a categorical shift. Audio-only glasses are an accessory; glasses that can put a turn arrow, a live caption, a message, or a translation directly in your sightline become a genuinely new computing surface — glanceable, hands-free, and always available without pulling out a phone. The bet Meta is making is that everyday AR won’t arrive as an immersive headset but as ordinary-looking glasses that show you a little, usefully, all day.
